An acclaimed leader and innovator in the Security Services & Risk Assessment industry, Michael Martin is known throughout the industry for his dynamic team and relationship building, progressive, quality-driven programs and solutions, discriminating eye for talent, ongoing dedication to championing standards and proven ability to identify trouble spots and invigorate struggling organizations, both nationally and internationally. A recognized expert in the defense industry, Martin also provides strategic direction and guidance for Aerospace & Defense security programs.
Martin is currently the CEO of Circadian Risk, where he is overseeing the development of software that is disrupting the traditional approach to risk analysis. Prior to accepting the role at Circadian Risk, Martin was President of Allied Universal’s Canadian Operations from 2016 – 2018, where he oversaw the tripling of revenues and numerous M&A integrations in both Canada and the Midwest. Martin was recruited by AUS following company acquisition of Guardsmark, LLC. where he served in various capacities from entry level Training Officer to Regional Vice President of the Midwest, Canada & UK Regions, overseeing one of the largest portfolios in the company. While there he led the Guardsmark Midwest teams on critical risk assessments in nearly every vertical market, including the Post 9/11 NFL Stadium Assessments and was awarded the Guardsmark Nelson-Henry Award for Best Manager, The Guardsmark Excellence Award for Outstanding Customer Service and was the first and only recipient of The Guardsmark Founder’s Award for leading various teams to the highest levels of achievement in procuring the company’s two largest single-source contracts.
Educated in the Midwest United States and abroad in England, Martin is a 2020 inductee into the Michigan State University School of Criminal Justice Wall of Fame and recipient of their 2020 Distinguished Alumni Award. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Michigan State University and an MBA from University of Michigan. Martin was an Overseas Scholar at Michigan State University and attended Cambridge University and the Bramshill Police Staff College in England.
While at Michigan State University, Martin conducted an award-winning Cyber Software Audit as an intern with Smiths Industries Aerospace & Defense Systems in Grand Rapids Michigan and Cheltenham, England. He is also a licensed private investigator and an active leader of ASIS International, Michigan Council of Private Investigators and Crime Stoppers. He supports numerous charitable causes and is very active in the re-development of his hometown, Detroit, Michigan.
